Today the world lost a great man; the digital media industry lost a leader, a pioneer, a visionary; Inlet lost its CEO and co-founder; a family lost their father; I lost my best friend.
Neal Page died late last night (July 6th) at age 50 after a yearlong battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
I’ve worked with Neal for over 10 years and during that time we have done some amazing things. We created a dominant brand and company at Osprey Technologies; we enabled video over the Internet (streaming media); we went to some great events, some great tradeshows and hit some good parties. We made memories together and I watched him impact so many people. It was that people impact that you would immediately notice when you met Neal. He was genuine, honest and straight-forward and you never questioned that. People wanted to be around Neal, work with Neal and work for Neal.
Two months ago I decided to sign up for an August 24th LIVESTRONG Challenge 100-mile bike ride in support of Neal. The ride now takes on more meaning, as I will now be riding both in honor and memory of Neal Page. You can check out my event page at http://philly09.livestrong.org/jebishop.
Neal leaves behind a legacy of 4 children ranging in age from 11 to 23, and a well established company and management team at Inlet Technologies.
Today I lost a great friend but he will not be forgotten.
Hike On Neal Page.
