Inlet, iPhone4 & WWDC
Unless you live in a cave somewhere or choose to isolate yourself from the media blitz that has surrounded the event - you are aware that Apple has delivered a new mobile handset to the masses.  iPhone 4 is here.  And Inlet Technologies has been working with Apple since well before the launch to ensure that our customers are able to leverage all the fantastic capability this device unleashes.
Sizzle - summer's here
Perhaps it is the 100 degree-plus heat that arrived all too soon, or maybe the buzz that seems to ebb and flow in this crazy technology space - but summer is here.  Long gone are the days when summertime meant a slow down in activity - school breaks, swimming pools and backyard fun.  Now, it seems summertime is the period of time when we prepare for the remainder of the year, looking to the calendar to determine when and how we will meet all these new commitments.
Get the story straight
Information is power.  You've heard the adage before.  But bad information is just as powerful, and often times, has more impact than the truth.  But to use another adage - the truth will set you free.
Another first for Inlet...
Wednesday, Steve Jobs finally announced the device that so many have anticipated for months, maybe years.  The iPadTM.  Like the iPhone, this device will enable new video experiences for users on the go.  As we've been doing for the last half year, Inlet is proud to announce that we will help our customers support delivery of video to this device when it ships.
More is more/better/what they want/good/so on...
Greetings from San Francisco and NewTeeVee Live 2009. It has been a day filled with great announcements and honors. First - I was asked to speak at the show and represent Inlet as one of NewTeeVee's "Next Big Thing," a list of companies identified as market movers.

Built for speed, scale and sizzle
From Raleigh to Vancouver. Wow - what a trip. I'm not talking about a plane flight here, although North Carolina skiiers would probably embrace such a thing. Not thinking about a car trip either. I'm talking about Inlet Technologies powering the XXI Olympic Winter Games. Today we were able to announce something Inlet has been working on for the better part of the last year. And what an amazing adventure it has been.

Make it smmoooooth....
Quick weekend post friends to point out something cool.  Microsoft has shipped some new tools - IIS Media Services 3.0 so that anyone can now utilize the same technology used to deliver The Championships at Wimbledon and Sunday Night Football on NBC.

Flash forward
As the title of this blog post suggests - our friends at Adobe have joined ABC with some buzz-worthy announcements.  In ABC's case, the subjuect is a catchy new show.  In Adobe's case, they made a flurry of announcements at Adobe MAX yesterday in Los Angeles.

Defining disruptive...
We often hear the word 'disruptive' used in and around technology discussions. The term sounds interesting and when used appropriately, it does tend to lend importance to a discussion. But what does it mean to categorize something 'disruptive'? Further, are disruptive events or technologies good, bad or indifferent to the overall landscape? The answer depends on where you sit within that landscape.

Yes we Cannes...
We did it - with a little help from our friends, as the song goes.  As I blogged earlier, Inlet Technologies is proud to have been a part of the video workflow for this year's Cannes Film Festival.  Huge hats off to our own Director of Product Management and compressionist extraordinaire - Andy Beach.  He single-handedly managed to process each and every video clip for this year's HD Showcase using our Armada VoD platform.
