Trinidad Media Services

- Trinidad Media Services was created in response to an exponential increase in the digital delivery of content through multiple platforms. The company provides an end-to-end solution for Digital Media Processing and Provisioning.  Trinidad required an encoding solution that could meet the needs of their demanding environment today and in the future. They also wanted a supplier known for outstanding customer dedication and unparalleled video encoding expertise to ensure they stay on the leading edge.

Microsoft Studios

 - Like most production facilities, Microsoft Studios often races against the clock to deliver projects on time. Highly skilled video technicians are usually costly, so optimizing their time is critical. The studio has been doing HD encoding for more than three years, but the process previously required at least nine hours – more than one work day – to encode one hour of film. Fathom has now made real-time HD encoding a reality, allowing them to cut production time by 75%. They can also use Fathom to encode “live” from tape into the preferred Windows Media format. They say Inlet has changed the way they do business, enabling them to accept last minute requests and still give their clients the turnaround time they want and the quality they need.

Modern VideoFilm
 - This leading post-production facility has long distinguished itself from its competition by offering services that other facilities can’t provide, and delivering creative solutions, high-quality output and fast turnaround. Using Inlet’s Fathom, they are now one of the first Hollywood post houses to offer real-time HD encoding as part of their services. Recently Fathom’s HD encoding has been critical to Modern’s ability to deliver HD dailies for a feature film, and Xbox trailers requiring the Windows Media 9 format in HD, as well as Dolby Digital 5.1.

Ball State University
 - When this university received a federal grant to conduct a study on the value of high bandwidth wireless technology, they turned to Inlet’s encoding solutions in order to gain the content distribution efficiencies necessary for such a far-reaching project. Fathom enabled the university to acquire, encode and distribute thousands of hours of content, including high-definition content, without unmanageable time and resource investments. Fathom became a critical element in a new technology infrastructure that Ball State believes to be the beginning of a digital revolution in their area.

MetaMedia
 - When this provider of multimedia instructional tools started utilizing HD footage in their deliverables, they realized that their MPEG-2 encoder was not going to do the trick. MPEG-2 required such high bit rates in order to maintain quality that the content just wouldn’t fit. The senior digital media specialist at MetaMedia knew he needed advanced encoding. After closely comparing the two major advanced encoding formats he decided that VC-1 was the right choice. He then determined that Fathom was the best VC-1 encoder on the market, for HD content. Using Fathom he was able to get the file size benefits he wanted, and the quality he needed, all with amazing speed.

SyncCast - Microsoft tasked SyncCast with using its video distribution service for its newly launched Xbox 360 to enable users, via Xbox LIVE (Xbox's online entertainment network), to download digital video content.  Microsoft needed 1000 hours of content ready for distribution by CES 2007, less than 60 days away.  SyncCast utilized Inlet's Semaphore automated Quality Control solution to boost their productivity by over 40%, meeting a deadline they had thought impossible months earlier.
